RAISING A CHILD WITH PSYCHIC ABILITIES

We Are Born Psychics
During the first five years of life, the reincarnated soul has not been contaminated by what we perceive as a sense of social responsibility. Guilt, pride, failure, and challenges are concepts unknown to children. We are born trusting that nature will take care of us and thinking that we are perfect the way we were created. If only these emotions could last for a lifetime!
Children are extremely receptive to spirituality. In fact, all of us were psychics before being forced to place society's priorities in order. Children can't tell the difference between what we consider real and what we see as fantasy. They are like little sponges - their minds absorb whatever concepts you introduce to them as real. They also look up to their parents for guidance. This is why it's so important to nurture the spirit within, instead of the child within.
This being said, the advice given here is for all parents and not just those who have a little psychic living at home. It's up to you to help your child develop this God-given gift.
What To Look For
STORYTELLERS - We often become amazed at the extent of a child's imagination. Their creativity seems to be as endless as their playful energy. Parents don't always pay attention to their children when they are allowing their imagination run wild. Give a child a pencil and paper and you will be surprised to find a pictorial narration that will leave Stephanie Meyer in the dark! Take the time to listen and they will explain all the details. It could be a past life memory, or it could be something that happened to someone who has entered the spirit world.
IMAGINARY FRIENDS - If you are a movie junkie the thought of your child talking to a spirit will give you the creeps. Hollywood's take on spirits is far from the truth. There is nothing to be scared of. If your child's imaginary friend looks more like the cookie monster than a human being, chances are it's not a spirit. On the other hand, if his description fits that of a human being and he enjoys playing and talking to him, it's likely that he is in the presence of a spiritual being. Many times children are visited by relatives who have past on. Other times, the child simply recognizes those entities that will form part of his life as long as he lives: Spirit Guides. We all have them and they are a God sent! There is no reason to panic and think that someone is trying to hurt your baby. Either way, the smart thing to do is to keep track of your child's behavior as the bond between child and spirit grows. And always remember - you, as the parent, are in control. If you suspect that the "imaginary friend" is a spirit who might not be a good influence, you have the power to talk to it with authority and set the rules over your household. That usually does the trick and they'll leave the child alone. The worse thing anyone can do is fear a spirit.
DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES Spirits will often communicate with us through dreams, and they usually know how to get their message across without the need for drama. Some dreams are more difficult to interpret because the symbolism changes from one person to the next. It is important to listen to your child's dreams and learn the difference between a dream and a revelation. Again, the dream could be about a past-life memory, a future prediction, or a spiritual journey. If your child has vivid dreams and likes to share them with you, it's a good idea to keep a log of what they are. If the dreams turn to nightmares, there are a couple of things you can do. If the nightmares are being caused by a spirit that is trying to communicate with the child, find out what is scaring the child.
The imagery is too violent and graphic - (As in the case of a spirit who is trying to show something bad that happened to him while he was alive) This is what you can do: talk to the spirit yourself. Don't think of them as extraterrestrial beings. They are people just like you and me. The only difference is that they no longer inhabit a body. Explain to this entity that you understand his need to communicate, but he needs to let go of whatever happened in the past and leave all the negative energy behind. Tell him that he is frightening your child. After that, just wait and see. The spirit might stop trying to communicate altogether, or it might choose a lighter, friendlier approach.
The child is perceiving the experience in a negative way This usually happens once they are gaining consciousness of our human reality. If the child understands that he is being visited by something that is not supposed to exist, he will become extremely frightened. This is the case with many children who wake up in the middle of the night screaming because they think someone is hiding in their closet; and those who try to find any excuse to stay awake because they are afraid to dream of something unusual. It takes time and lots of patience to help your child regain the confidence and trust they were born with. Try to calm their fears by assuring them that there is nothing to be scared of, and show them how to control each situation by communicating openly with any entities or energies that might approach them while they are in a dream state. Never brush off a dream by downplaying its importance. If you do that, you are only showing them how to discard their psychic abilities.
Remember, feeding your child's imagination does not consist of pretending to believe in the tooth-fairy and Santa Claus. It's a long-term process that will eventually find the proper balance resulting in a highly creative, healthy, spiritual adult.

I am a 15 year old boy. Whenever or if ever I have a dream it is always either a nightmare or I am seeing something of the future. These nightmare's have unborn spirit's in them (Devils/Fallen-Angels) and are always gruesome with people dying, usually with people being torn apart by demonic beings. The demonic beings usually take the form of bipedal bulls, sheep and horses and are usually black or white. I also frequently hear voices talking to me and commanding me. I know I'm being haunted, but their not human. Do you not believe in demons? In reading what you've written you would claim all these spirits to be other people. Take in the fact that all spirits are not always people. Do you want to know the difference between a human spirit or demonic one?
A Demon will mostly taunt terrorise and most likely seek to destroy you so it can be sure you are weak enough to be possessed. Keep in mind a Demon's main goal is to possess you. Demons are also capable of possessing animals. Also a Demon is an insane creature and is crazily under the control of lust and has no self-control as it is created from pure darkness, it's lust is to possess. A Demon will come at an area because it has either once been welcomed their or it has found an easy target, usually kids and teens.
A Human Spirit is never nearly as violent or as crazy/insane as a demon and CANNOT possess another person, but can talk and influence others. Human Spirits are left behind and seem to be forsaken. They are usually around the place of were there death was caused, the place of there deceased body, or a very familiar place to them such as there old home or around family member. If around a family member it is usually a favorited, or the youngest such as a child. They are also capable of picking up objects, and showing their past lives in dreams or visions.
Fallen Angels are the most unusual creatures and are extremely hard to describe. Unlike demons they have wings and were once peaceful as angels, but they are malicious now and are extremely intelligent. Also unlike demons they do not possess anything. A Fallen Angel will try to spread sin to damn people and make a person self-destruct.
When I was four I too had an "imaginary friend". Can you guess its name? Its name was Legion. This thing still haunts me. My mother knows of it too. She prays for me every day, but sadly I've already lost who I once was.
I have taken my time to write this mainly to tell you all to be cautious to what your child is explaining to you. Make sure a child stays away from any demonic spirits or they'll end up destroyed beyond comprehension.
I've always had psychic abilities. Since my mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother had them, too, Mom knew how to handle mine. Thumbs up for this interesting hub!
This hub speaks to me in so many ways. Thank you for having the courage to put it out there in a world that is too often closed to anything other than the five physical senses.
The 'site' has been in my family for quite some time now, my mother disregarded her's, I've embraced mine. We talked about it just before her passing. She has visited my youngest daughter, who is also embracing hers. My Grandmother is with me often.
On a visit to my son's home, I took my grandson(he was 2), it was early in the morning we were sitting on the porch, we had a visit from a Spirit, I thought it might have been the previous owner who passed. I asked if it was (one of the toys on the porch had a horn, my grandson was sitting next to me) the spirit was using the horn to communicate. 1 for yes, twice for no. Through asking questions and getting beeps, It was my Mother with us that day. I introduced her to my grandson, and 'felt' that she was proud.
I wish I could get more visits more often. I am continually trying to develop my abilities. I keep an open mind for whatever may come.
Great Hub, I'm glad I found it!
Spoooky and shivery..but never the less a very interesting hub..I think the advise you gave to the 15 yrs old kid was very right..I hope I never attract any negative energy anytime..I wish the same for everyone here..it was great to read this hub..
I too believe that we are born with some psychic ability, and many adults possess it to a small degree...unless they nurture it! We see the little events in our lives everyday that are based on this inherent psychic ability. Great hub!
I knew you were gonna say that!
Interesting perspectives and details about children and psychic skills, klarawieck. Do you know anything about Harlequins? Or about how to talk to a child who has, perhaps, seen a harlequin?
Great hub. I love to read about psychic abilities. I will read more of your hubs.
Is this really true? Is being psychich really true?
I wish you would read my hubs, the abilities which are awake in me nearly drove me mad. I am self disciplined, but only by the grace of God from where these things are generated. I am 55. Had my first clairvoyant episode when I was 6. It came true 8 yrs later, but I couldn't admit it to myself until eleven years after that. This can be nurtured. I know how.
My daughter is five years old and is having problems sleeping. She has never been able to sleep through the night even as a baby. She usually wakes up at the same time each morning. However, since my husband has joined the military and is currently away, my daughter has been been waking up in a half-conscious state where she is crying nonstop over missing her daddy. Recently, she has been expressing that her ear hurts when she awakens, but she does not have an ear infection of any kind.
I have suspected for a while that she has very real, lucid dreams...almost premonitions? I can't help but feel that she is picking up on my husband being overseas and I don't know how to verfiy her dreams because she usually does not remember them. All I know is that neither one of us are getting any sleep and I don't know how to handle the situation. Can anyone help?
Wow Klara, I can't believe I only just read this for the first time. You just told my daytoday life as a 4yrold.
I love this. My grandmother thought I has a sixth sense or something but she would always chastise me and tell me to hush and not tell others about my dreams or feelings.I don't know that I had any such abilities. But I do recall seeing things different as a child and her being upset and fearful about it. She was very superstitious.
Like Jonathan, I can't believe I've only just discovered this hub. I should write one, too; my daughters have gifts that I don't have, and growing up with them was an adventure. My hubby helped me to understand from his experiences, which are recently becoming stronger. Thanks for the good read.

It would have been wonderful if my parents had been able to read this article when my brother and I were children! My father used to downplay my dreams. My mother would start yelling and become abusive when I would have premonitions of things. She hated the fact that I Knew people inside and out. It was not that they were bad parents. They were wonderful parents. They just did not Understand how my life fit into the scheme of things. My mother finally Realized, who I am and what I am alive for, just before she died. Thank you very much for this article. May my children be Blessed by it as they Realize why they were brought up the way they were!
